(Episode 18: The Golden Hourglass)

The Past: Forest of Lireo

While wandering in the forest as children the sisters come upon Evades. Pirena recognizes the elemental and the sisters come out of hiding to meet the familiar face. But the younger version of the Etherian Elemental does not recognize any of them.

Evades: “Sino kayo? At anong ginagawa ng mga paslit na tulad niyo sa kagubatang ito?”
(Who are you? And what are little children such as you doing in the forest?)

Before the sisters can give him an answer though Banak and Nakba arrive following the Etherian. They ask about the Diwatas, and then when they notice the children they ask about them too. Evades has the same question in mind, who are these kids. Just then Danaya come forward and addresses the two men calling them by name. This puzzles the Sapirians, how do these kids know them. So Alena informs them that the kids definitely know the two men, and it’s because they are the Diwatas that they are looking for. This admonition surprises the men. They would like to know what has happened to the Diwatas and how did they get turned into children.

Pirena: “May nakalaban kami, siya ang may gawa sa amin nito”
(We fought someone, she did this to us)

Evades: “Ether, and bathala ng mga kalahi kong Etherian. Siya and may gawa sa inyo nito”
(It was Ether, the god of my fellow Etherian. She did this to you)

So Amihan implores the powerful elemental to help. Is it possible for his power to return the sisters to their original form. But she doesn’t get an immediate response from the Etherian.

The Palace of Sapiro

Prince Raquim is pacing in the training hall of the great palace. Something seems to be bothering the young man, something he is pondering very deeply. Suddenly King Meno with his personal guard arrives and addresses the Prince. He informs his nephew that he ahs just learned that their guest seems to have left Sapiro. Raquim tells his uncle that the stranger left without giving any word. This puzzles the king since they provided the stranger with every courtesy, yet he still hopes that no harm comes to young man.

Just as the king is getting ready to leave the prince alone, Raquim decides to ask his uncle about what has been puzzling him. He is simply curious about the Diwatas, as far as he can remember they have always been enslaved by other races, especially the Etherians. He just can’t understand why Etherians treat the diwatas that way.

Meno: “Ito ay bunga ng takot Raquim”
(This due to fear Raquim)

This answer only serves to confuse the prince even more. The Etherians are very powerful, what do they have to fear from the Diwatas. It seems that even with all their power the Etherians fear the Diwatas because of a curse that was bestowed in the distant past. A curse set upon the Etherians by the most powerful Diwata ever conceived, Esmeralda.

Raquim: “Esmeralda? Sino si Esmeralda?”
(Esmeralda? Who was Esmeralda?)

So the king decides to tell his nephew of the tale of Esmeralda as it was told by his father. Esmeralda was the most powerful Diwata ever to walk Encantadia, but this was centuries ago. She was so powerful that with the help of her scepter anything she said would come true. When the Etherians learned of her power they grew envious and wanted it for their own. So they attacked Esmeralda in her sleep, bent on wrestling the power from her. Esmeralda tried to drive them back with the scepter, but outnumbered by the Etherians she succumbed. Yet before giving in to death she uttered a curse again the Etherian race.



Esmeralda: “Pagbabayaran ninyo and ginawa ninyong ito sa akin. Ang mga kalahi kong Diwata ang maghihiganti sa inyo. Pababagsakin nila ang kaharian ninyo, hanggang walang matira sa Etheria kung hindi ang alaala ng inyong kapalaluan”
(You will pay for what have done to me. My fellow Diwatas will seek vengeance upon you. They will tear down your nation, until nothing is left of Etheria but the memory of your arrogance.)

Upon her death the Etherians thought they had won the power of the sceptre. But it was not so for along with the ebbing of Esmeralda’s life the sceptre vanished into thin air. Leaving the puzzled Etherian with nothing but a curse upon their heads. Esmeralda’s final words drove fear into the hearts of the Etherians and from that day on they strove to suppress the diwatas. That was the start of the Diwata’s enslavement.



Raquim finally understands why the Etherians have been enslaving the Diwatas, it’s because of fear. But Meno feels that the enslavement is senseless. After so many centuries no Diwata has ever gone against the Etherian. So Raquim tells his uncle about the Diwatas who went up against the Etherian guard, the same Diwatas that Etheria is looking for right now. They may be the fruition of Esmeralda’s dying curse.

Forest of Lireo

Evades is telling the sisters his power is no match for one of the gods. So he cannot help them, only another god could possibly help them now. That is why he has brought them to try and call upon Emre for his aid. With his wand he lights the magical cauldron and calls upon the benevolent Emre to heed their prayer and appear to give them assistance.

Somewhere in the Forest

Marvus is trying to rile the other Diwatas to take up arms against Etherian oppression. He tells his kinsmen that from the moment they are born it is as if they are branded for slavery. Their kind does not say a word at being seized and forced into servitude by the Etherians. Likewise they remain silent when their kind is tormented and punished. So the Etherians are led to believe that the Diwatas are cowards who cannot put up a fight. But isn’t enough-enough?

While Marvus continues his speech to his fellow Diwatas two Sapirian guards stumble upon the assembly. With curiosity the guards watch over the proceeding. It would seem that news has travelled fast, hence all the Diwatas now know of Ornia’s execution. That is why they have come together in this secluded section of the forest. With this realization one of the guards ponders if Ornia may be the catalyst that their lord Asval has been seeking for all these years.

Hera Andal Dungeon

A bloody and bruised Ornia hangs limply against her chains when a hooded man carrying a sword approaches her. He awakens the Diwata who immediately begins to squirm until she realizes that the man in front of her is Memen.

Memen: “Alam mo ba na paparusahan ka ng kamatayan bukas?”
(Did you know that you will be put to death tomorrow?)

Ornia: “Tanggap ko na, Alam ko nang yun ang kahahantungan ko”
(I have accepted it, I knew that was were I was headed)

So Memen admits that he cannot abide by this, he cannot let her die. He tells her that ones he has an opportunity he will help her escape and he will take her far from Etheria.

Hera Andal Palace

Avria with the captain of the guard Victu are stand before the altar of Ether as the god’s serpentine form hovers above the flame. She exclaims that their god Ether has finally returned. This only means that she has gone up against whoever is threatening their golden hourglass. She decides not to take chances, so she issues a dire command to her captain. She commands that the guards are to surround Etheria and capture or kill all none etherians trying to enter the capital. Victu readily accepts the queen’s orders and sets off to fulfil her wishes.



The Forest of Lireo

Evades calls upon Emre. Suddenly the fire on the altar erupts and the glowing flames engulf Evades. As the magical glow envelops the Etherian Emre takes control of his body to use it as tool to speak with the sisters. Emre then asks those in front of him why they have summoned him. But even before Amihan can tell him who they are he informs them that he already knows who they are. He also tells the sisters that he knows why they are in the past. Pirena then tries to plead for Emre to return them to their original selves. But alas Emre is unable to undo what Ether has done. He informs the sisters that it is the law amongst the gods that one cannot undo what another’s will. So he cannot overturn Ether’s magic, just as Ether cannot undo his own actions.



When Danaya asks if that is so then how are they to return to their grown up selves. She is told by Emre that this can only be accomplished through their own actions. They need to enter Etheria together, and by doing this undo the spell that Ether has placed them under.

So Danaya decides to ask Emre for the Hope Gem so that they will have a means of defending themselves and entering Etheria. But her idea is faulty, for Emre tells her that only the people who are destined to obtain the Hope Gem will receive it. By this he means that he can only give the Gem to the original group he bestowed it upon, Cassiopeia, Bartimus, Meno and Aegen. So he cannot give the gem to the sisters, even if they are its guardians in the future. He then repeats what he said the sisters must accomplish in order to break the spell and leaves.

After Emre leaves and Evades regains control of his body, he has no recollection of what has just happened. So he asks the sisters to tell him what Emre told them.

Later we see Amihan leading her sisters to another part of the forest, closely followed by Banak and Nakba. She tells them that they cannot enter Etheria without a plan. So they decide to use their youth to their own advantage. So they hatch a plan for it might just be possible that even etherians would not hurt a young child and so they can go to etheria unhindered. Now, once inside etheria they can then easily find the golden hourglass, or so they thought.



But Evades tells them that finding what they seek will not be so easy. The hourglass is kept in a hidden room and even he does not know its location. Only Queen Avria and the four guardian of the hourglass can enter this secret chamber. No one knows who the four guardians are even the guardians themselves do not know each other. Only the queen knows their true identity.

Everyday one of the guardians takes their turn guarding the hourglass. Each has their own unique ability. Aside from guarding the hourglass they have one other duty, which is to wait for the last speck of sand to fall in order to begin the cycle again. Everyday they each take their turn at guarding the hourglass, devoting their time to its protection. This is because the hourglass is the source of power for all of Etheria.



While the sands of the hourglass continue to flow Etheria is secure in its continued existence. But the moment the sands stop flowing the whole nation will topple to the ground. All it’s magic and even it’s very lifeblood will disappear.

As the sisters prepare to set off towards the kingdom of Etheria Nakba and Banak try to dissuade them from continuing their journey. But the sisters are resolute to see things through. Even Evades is convinced that the sisters play an important role in history and should not be hindered. So he decides to give them a parting gift that may prove useful. He decides to give them his ability to teleport. As the sisters use their new ability Evades gives them a farewell blessing.



Hera Andal Dungeon

As Ornia regains all of her senses she notices that she is no longer in her original cell. She asks Memen where they are, and what has happened to the other Diwatas. Memen tells her that she has moved to a different cell. Ornia then insists that the others need to escape as well. But Memen tells her that doing so would make things difficult as they would surely be detected.

Outskirts of Hera Andal

The sisters materialize in front of a rocky edifice.

Danaya: “Ang galing nagagawa ulit natin ang maglaho”
(Great we can disappear at will again)

Amihan: “Salamat kay Evades, utang natin sa kanya ang ganitong kapangyarihan”
(Thank Evades, we owe him for giving us this power)

As the sisters are talking Alena suddenly notices something toward the horizon. She calls her sisters attention in that direction. In the distance, beyond a grove of trees, the mighty palace of Hera Andal is clearly visible. They have successfully reached Etheria, now they need to find a way into the city.

Abangan:

• Prince Hagorn is reading a decree that there is to be a celebration in Etheria to be highlighted by a fight featuring Juvila, the greatest warrior in Etheria.
• Memen and Ornia are fleeing Hera Andal just as the sisters enter the city.
• Odessa has Asval at arrow point as she asks him where she can find Ybrahim
• Ybrahim finds himself in an unfamiliar dwelling and is suddenly approached by a little boy (little Aquil)
• The sisters are running and screaming away from something as they run past Princes Raquim and Hagorn who are surprised to encounter children in the forest.

Kabanata 17: Ang Sumpa ni Ether

A place in Encantadia:

Banak and Nakba hid in the trees. Danaya asked the snake. Ether replied that she knew who are they and what is their purpose. Amihan said that Cassandra is the reason. They saw Cassandra inside the golden hourglass. Ether told them that Cassandra is in between the past and the present time.

Sapiro:
Asval wanted Ybrahim to be killed.

A place in Encantadia:
Ether told them that Cassandra’s energy is the one giving them power to the golden hourglass and for that, the golden hourglass will never be broken. Amihan got angry. Amihan said that she will not let that happen. That she will see Cassandra again.

A place in Encantadia:
Raquim told Hagorn that he had met a beautiful encantada.

Hera Sensa:
Pira is telling her classmates that they saw a sapiryan who is a hunk. Mine-a agreed to what Pira said. She added that the sapiryan they saw has a beautiful face and his stare is so intense. Pira said that the meaning of the name Raquim is the Prince of Light. Then a nursemaid came and told Mine-a that her father arrived.

A place in Encantadia:
Banak and Nakba ran.

Banak: “Nakba, harapin natin, na tayo ay sadyang mga duwag! Takbo!” (“Nakba, let’s face it, that we are cowards! Run!”)
Pirena: “Banak, Nakba bumalik kayo dito!” (“Banak, Nakba come back here!”)

Alena said that they will not be defeated. Ether told them that she has no intention of killing them for Emre will bring them back to life. Ether conjured some of her powers.


A place in Encantadia:
Raquim wished to see Mine-a again. Hagorn offered help to look for that encantada.

Hera Sensa:
Memen and Mine-a are talking. Memen said that he was once a soldier when Avria chose him to be his husband.


A place in Encantadia:
Arkrey and another soldier carrying Ybrahim. Arkrey stared on Ybrahim’s face. The soldier said that it is time for Arkrey to kill Ybrahim. Arkrey pause and think for a while. Arkrey wanted to be left alone with Ybrahim. He took the sword from the soldier and ordered the soldier to leave. He then pointed the sword to Ybrahim


A place in Encantadia:
Arkrey can’t kill Ybrahim.

Arkrey: “Kung tunay ngang magiging hari ka ng Sapiro, hindi ka dapat mamatay.” (“If you are going to be the King of Sapiro, then you should not die.”)

Then he left Ybrahim the sword and Ybrahim’s headgear.

A place in Encantadia:
The sang’gres became weak and fainted.

A place in Encantadia:
Banak and Nakba are still running when they met Evades. They asked for help. They told Evades that Ether appeared to the 4 diwata.

Hera Andal:
Avria is waiting for the 4 diwata to appeare. She wanted to see how powerful they are. She told Victu to spread the news regarding Ornia’s death sentence so that the 4 diwata will know and will come to Etheria to rescue Ornia.



A place in Encantadia:
Ether’s power brought the sang’gres back to their child body.

Hera Andal:
Victu said to Memen that Ornia will be sentence to death by tomorrow.

Sapiro:
Raquim came and asked about Ybrahim. The soldier said that maybe Ybrahim had escaped. Then a messenger from Etheria came. The letter said that a diwata will be sentence to death by tomorrow if the 4 diwata will not make an appearnce. Raquim asked who are those 4 diwata.

A place in Encantadia:
Amihan and the others woke up. They were shocked to find out that they were kids again.


Sapiro:
Raquim asked who are those 4 diwata. The messenger said that they were those diwata who fought the etherians. The sapiryan soldier said that they have no idea. Raquim pitied Ornia. He is thinking of ways to help Ornia.

A place in Encantadia:
They can’t believe what is happening to them. They thought that it is just a dream
But Amihan said that it is really happening.

Amihan: “Hindi ito panaginip! At hindi rin tayo namamalikmata! Totoo ang ating mga nakikita. Bumalik tayo sa pagiging bata!” (“This is not a dream! And definitely our eyes are not deceiving us! This is really happening! we are kids again!”)
All: *SCREAM*
Danaya: “Humanda sakin yang nagparusa satin nito! Magbabayad siya!” (“She better get ready! She will pay for this!”)
Pirena: “At paano mo siya lalabanan Danaya? Kung ganito ang ating mga wangis. Tignan mo nga sarili mo, napakalusog mo! Baka hindi ka na makatakbo!” (“And how will you fight her Danaya? If we are like these! Look at yourself, you’re so healthy! Maybe you can’t run!”)
Danaya: “Pashnea ka!” (“Pashnea!”)
Alena: “Tama na Pirena, Danaya! Huwag na kayong mag away!” (“Stop it Pirena, Danaya! Stop fighting you two!”)
Amihan: “Tumigil na kayo! Ang dapat nating isipin ngayon ay kung paano tayo hahanap ng paraan para makabalik tayo sa dati nating anyo.” (“Stop it! What we should think now is how we can find ways to turn to our usual self again.”)

Evades came. Pirena, Danaya, and Alena hid on Amihan’s back and Amihan ready to protect her sisters.


Abangan Bukas:

--> The diwatas having a meeting.

--> Memen doesn’t want Ornia to be killed.

--> Avria ordered that whoever encantada/encantado will enter Etheria who is not an etherian shall be killed.

--> The 4 sang’gre came to Etheria.

Kabanata 16: Ang unang hadlang sa mga sanggre

Ang Nakaraan…

Ornia was caught by the etherian guards. The guards removed the bag that was covering ornia’s head. Memen was shocked to see Ornia that caused him to blurt out ornia’s name. Avria asked Memen if he knew the diwata.

In Hera Andal, Avria ordered the soldiers to imprison Ornia. Memen told Avria that Ornia did nothing against her. Avria told Memen that she knows where the 4 diwatas are and so she needs to be tortured so that she would tell her where the 4 diwatas are hiding.

Raquim was telling Minea how beautiful she is and therefore he has the right to know her name. He introduced himself to Minea as Raquim, the prince of Sapiro. Raquim asked Minea again her name. Vira was about to say Minea’s name when Minea interrupted and said ssheda. Raquim told Minea that the name ssheda is not fit for a beautiful lady like her. Minea does not want to entertain Raquim anymore and so, she dragged Vira and walked away. Raquim was shouting out “ssheda” so that Minea would come back. (haha akala ko hindi alam ni Raquim ano ang meaning ng ssheda)

Somewhere in the forest, Odessa was telling the 4 sanggres why she couldn’t go back to their tribe. She tells the sanggres that she disobeyed her mother because she was ordered to kill a sapiryan but she did not do it because she liked the sapiryan. Alena asked Odessa who the sapiryan was. Odessa told Alena that she doesn’t know and even the sapiryan himself doesn’t know because it seems that the sapiryan has amnesia. Alena told her that she understands her. Alena told Odessa that she senses that she is falling in love with the sapiryan.(ulk! patay talaga si Odessa pag nalaman ni Alena na si Ybz pala ang iniibig nya) Pirena pointed her dagger at Odessa and said that they should stop talking about love and proceed with their real business instead. Odessa asked Pirena to put down her dagger and told her that she is not an enemy. Amihan told Alena and Danaya that they could take advantage of Odessa because she could tell them where the golden hourglass is. Amihan told Pirena to put down her dagger. Pirena obeyed Amihan. Pirena asked Odessa if she knows anything about a golden hourglass. Odessa was angered with the sanggre’s question and she took out her sword. She asked the sanggres why they asked about the golden hourglass.

In Hera Sensa, a scroll of truth was glowing. Animus wondered why the scroll was glowing. Barkus took a look at the scroll. He told Animus that someone is attempting to steal the golden hourglass from them.

Raquim was asking the batis ng katotohanan the real identity of the sapiryan he found. The batis ng katotohanan showed him the truth that the sapiryan is a king. He wondered why the sapiryan was wearing the crown of Haring Meno.

In Sapiro, Ybrahim was asleep. Haring Meno came in to check on Ybrahim. Ybrahim woke up when Haring Meno entered the room. Ybrahim asked Hairng Meno who he is. Haring Meno wondered why Ybrahim does not know him but anyway, he introduced himself as haring Meno, the king of sapiro. Ybrahim repeated the words king and Sapiro. Haring Meno said that what Raquim had reported to him was true, that he has amnesia. Haring Meno told Ybrahim that he can stay in Sapiro anytime.

Memen is talking to Avria when a soldier announced that Barkus wants to talk to Avria. Barkus came in and said that someone is attempting to steal the hourglass from the etherians.

Odessa repeated her question. Amihan said that if she told her, she will have to kill her. Odessa took out her arrow and tried to hit Amihan but Amihan quickly avoided Odessa’s attack. Pirena and Odessa clashed swords.

A etherian soldier was beating Ornia with a latigo.(hehe latigo) Ornia was crying out in pain. Memen came in her prison cell and ordered the etherian soldier to stop beating her and go out. The soldier quickly obeyed. Memen removed his hood. Ornia was shocked to see Memen.

Raquim was telling Asval what he saw at the batis ng katotohanan. Asval just ridiculed his words and told him that the batis ng katotohanan is lying. Arkrhey told Asval that the batis never lies. Asval told Arkrhey that now they know that the batis lies. Asval walked away, laughing.

Pirena and Odessa clashed swords. Pirena was about to hit Odessa but Odessa quickly disappeared.

Avria was praying to Ether. She summons ether so that she could help her defeat those who were attempting to steal the hourglass.

She asked memen what he was doing here. Memen took out a piece of bread and gave it to Ornia. Ornia said no thanks, because she prefers her freedom. Memen told her that he couldn’t do it because he cannot disobey his wife. Ornia told Memen that if she eats the food and regains her strength, it would still be useless because the soldiers would still continue to torture her. Ornia asked Memen to do a favor for her.

Asval tells Arkrhey that they need to get rid of that Sapiryan. Arkrhey told Asval that it is not fair that they shoo the sapiryan out without any reason.

Haring Meno and Ybrahim are practicing with their swords. Haring Meno told Ybrahim that he is such a skilled fighter. He asked Ybrahim where he got his fighting skills. Ybrahim just shrugged. Haring Meno told Ybrahim that if only he had a son like him. Meanwhile, the 2 didn’t know that Asval was watching them from afar. A kawal told Asval that it seems his brother is enjoying the sapiryan’s company.

Memen told Ornia that he would do anything for her. Ornia asked him to get the sword of his soldier and kill her. Memen said he can't do it because even if she is just a lowly diwata, he still can't afford to kill her. Memen left. Ornia was crying.

The 4 sanggres were still wandering in the woods. Danaya said that if only they had heir brilyantes, it would’ve been much easier for them to travel to etheria. Pirena sees a road. She tells the other 3 sanggres to follow her. Danaya told Pirena that she might be sure of her decision or else. Pirena mocked Danaya by saying “masusunod, mahal na reyna”. Danaya was angered by Pirena’s words and asked her if she was mocking her. Alena stopped the feud and asked the if they could just be friends even for now. Amihan sensed that something was wrong and so she asked her sisters to hide. Banak and Nakba were strolling in the woods. When they reached the place where Amihan and the others were hiding, Pirena and Amihan quickly caught Banak and Nakba and pointed them with their swords. Banak and Nakba were frightened to death.

Amihan and Pirena let go of Banak and nakba. Amihan told Banak that they surprised them. Banak told Amihan that they were the ones who surprised them. Amihan asked them if they know a way that would bring them to etheria. Banak and Nakba refused to answer. Nakba told the sanggres that he and banak has to go because they have so much work to do. Pirena stopped them and said that they know Banak and Nakba knows the way to etheria. Amihan asked Banak and Nakba where were the mighty and brave warriors that helped her conquer Lireo back. Banak and Nakba stared at Amihan confusingly. Alena asked Banak and Nakba the way to etheria. Banak and Nakba pointed to opposite directions. Pirena told them that they have never changed. (hehe laftrip tlga to…)

In Sapiro, Ybrahim was asleep. Asval creeped in and tried to attack Ybrahim but Ybrahim blocked his attack. Asval told Ybrahim that he should get out of Sapiro. Someone hit Ybrahim at the back and that knocked Ybz unconscious. Asval ordered Arkrhey to get Ybz out of sapiro. (naku, arkrhey, akala ko pa naman good ka. Sayang at guwapo ka pa naman. *snaps fingers*)

Somewhere in the forest, the 4 sanggres and banak and nakba were standing. Then, after a while, a big snake appeared in front of them. They were all startled when they saw the giant snake.

-Banak and Nakba were asking help from evades.

-The 4 sanggres were trying to fight off ether but their efforts were of no avail.

-Avria told Memen that she will call all encantados because tomorrow, she is going to execute Ornia

-Ether put a spell on Amihan, Danaya, Pirena and Alena.

Kabanata 3: Ang Pagbihag sa puso ni Juvila
(Episode 3: The Capture of Juvila’s Heart)

Forest:

The masked figure approaches the guards who have captured Raquim. She uses the magic sword against the guards and easily defeats them. With the Etherian guards dispatched Raquim gives his thanks to the masked figure who just saved his life along with the Diwatas he was trying to protect. He asks the stranger who she is and she opens her veil.

Hera Andal: Palace

Hagorn has come to pay a visit to his future wife. She merely stands before him completely veiled and not uttering a single word.

Hagorn: “Avisala Mine-a. May dala ako para sayo. Sana ay magustohan mo ang aking munting handog sa iyo”
(Greetings Mine-a. I have brought something for you. I hope that you will like this small gift that I have given you)

He has brought her a beautiful green parrot. But Mine-a still remains silent and Hagorn leaves right after presenting his gift. Upon his departure Gurna approaches Mine-a and asks if that visitor was the young prince of Hathoria. But Mine-a does not answer her as well. This puzzles Gurna asks her lady if it is really her under that veil. When she does not receive and answer she sends all the other people from the room and decides to check on the immobile figure under the veil. The lady in waiting is shocked to find not Mine-a but a dama posing as the princess under the veil. Gurna asks the lady in waiting where Mine-a has gone.

Hera Sensa: Palace

Cliatus of Hera Bolo has come to visit the leader of Hera Sensa Barkus.

Cliatus: “Avisala Barkus, pinuno ng Hera Sensa”
(Greetings Barkus, Leader of Hera Sensa)

Barkus: “Avisala Cliatus”
(Greetings Cliatus)

After greeting each other Cliatus proceeds to tell his counterpart that he has a great problem with his daughter Juvila. She has just been made a Captain of one of the Queens regiments. Barkus agrees that this is not the proper position for one such as Juvila who should instead be a partner to one of the Hera leaders. But how can this happen when Juvila will not wed anyone, unless they are able to defeat her in battle. So her father asks, who could it be that would be able to defeat his daughter. Barkus’ son Animus offers himself to challenge Juvila. At this Barkus belittles his own son:

Barkus: “Ikaw!? Ikaw na hindi kayang humawak ng espada! Ikaw na lalampa-lampa! Hindi, ako mismo ang tatalo kay Juvila, kahit na gamitin ko pa ang aking kapangyarihan.”
(You!? You who can’t even carry a sword! You weakling! No, I shall defeat Juvila myself, even if I have to use my powers to do it)


Forest:

Raquim is surprised to see the Diwata and he has been pursuing in front of him. The Diwatas thank Raquim and the stranger. Then Raquim tells the stranger that someone needs to help the Diwata, but the question is who. They need an Etherian to help the Diwatas and so they seek out Evades.

Hera Volo: Training Ground

Juvila practices her fighting skill with a blind fold which truly shows off her skill as a warrior. Her father approaches her from behind and she reacts to the presence of another in her vicinity. She is able to hold back her attack before hurting her father. She apologizes for the attack explaining that she did not know it was him. He tells her that no harm has been done and everything is perfectly alright.

Cliatus then informs his daughter that she has been challenged by Barkus, who wants to take her as a wife. She is shocked that such an old encantado is interested in her. But she does not reject the challenge, she is resolute to show the old man that she will not be had so lightly.

Hera Sensa: Palace

A slave approaches Barkus to inform him that someone has come to see him. It is the Herald to deliver a message from Cliatus. After greeting Barkus the herald hands him a scroll. Upon opening the scroll and reading the content Barkus seems pleased. It would seem that Juvila has accepted his challenge. So he sends back a verbal message for the herald to deliver. He tells the man to tell Juvila to expect him at Hera Volo at dusk the next day.

Forest:

Evades appears with a young woman standing behind him. He addresses prince Raquim and asks the young royal why they seek him. The prince explains that they need his help to protect the Diwatas. But elder Etherian tells the group that he has no help to give, and advises the group to seek shelter elsewhere before the Etherians find them again. He then asks them to leave. But before the group can move a muscle the young lady steps forward and says:

Young Lady: “Hindi sila aalis”
(They will not leave)

Everyone is surprise by this. And Mine-a has to ask who she is. The young woman tells them that she is the Diwata who’s growth was accelerated by the magic of the forest, she then asks Mine-a who she is.

Hera Sensa: Palace

Andora is walking around the palace when she comes across her brother Animus who is obviously unhappy about something. She quickly asks him:

Andora: “Bakit ka malungkot?”
(Why are you sad?)

Animus: “Dahil kay Juvila”
( It’s because of Juvila)

Andora: “Si Juvila, ng Hera Volo?”
(Juvila, of Hera Volo?)

So Animus tells his sister how he has been in love with Juvila since the first time he set eyes upon her. He was at the mountain searching for the golden colondre. He saw a vision of a woman dancing upon the mountain top who he mistook as the olondre, but turned out to be Juvila. He tried to catch her, but she was too swift for him to keep up. He then informs his sister that their father wants Juvila now, in fact he is going to Hera Volo the following day.

Andora is shocked to learn that their father has set his sights on Juvila is young enough to be his daughter. She asks her brother to tell their father of his own feelings about the younger woman. But Animus informs her that their father already knows of the young man’s feeling. Yet he still pursues the woman his son loves.

Animus then tells his sister that he is sure that their father can defeat Juvila. He believes this because he knows that their father is the keeper of the book of war which holds some of the most advanced battle techniques. Their father does not share this knowledge with anyone and with it he is nearly assured victory.

Meanwhile Barkus approaches one of the hearths in his quarters and begins to burn a scroll. The burning scroll creates an image of a fighter going through some fighting stances and Barkus imitates the stances to learn the new fighting techniques. Suddenly a woman walks into the other chamber and Barkus freezes. He is angry and tells the woman that he left orders not to be disturbed. He motions for her to come closer which she does reluctantly. Barkus then uses his power to control her mind and command her to commit suicide.

Andora tells her brother that he needs to find the golden olondre before their father can defeat Juvila. That way Animus will be able to challenge and defeat the girl himself and save her from his father. The young man is perplexed, how is he to do this in such a short time and alone. His sister reassures him that there is no need to worry, she will not leave him to accomplish this endeavor himself. She will be accompanying him in the search.

Forest:

Raquim: “Tama ang bagong dating, sino ka nga ba?”
(The young lady is right, who are you anyway?)

Mine-a: “Ako si Quesya.”
(I am Quesya)

After the introduction the young lady asks one of the Diwata warriors to come forward and give her his sword. She takes the sword from the young man and plunges it into the earth. With this action she establishes Lireo the Diwata homeland. The name Lireo means home of the Diwata in the old tongue of the gods.

Raquim finds some time alone with Quesya (Mine-a) and proceeds to thank the young woman for saving their lives. She scornfully tells him that maybe she shouldn’t of helped in the first place. Her tone of voice irks Raquim who is unaccustomed to be spoken to in that manner by someone he believes to be a slave. He approaches her saying that she does not know how to treat a prince properly, she expects an attack and quickly subdues the prince. He apologizes and tells her that he merely wishes to be her friend and to know more about her.

Later, Quesya (Mine-a) is walking alone in the forest of newly founded Lireo. She suddenly grabs her Kabilan and spins around to find the young lady standing before her.

Young Lady: “Kilala kita. Alam ko kung sino ka. Nakikita ko ang hindi nakikita ng iba, kaya kilala kita”
(I know you. I know who you are. I can see things that no one else sees, so I know you)

Quesya (Mine-a) is surprised about this young woman’s power. She even know about what Mine-a has been hiding on her back.

Sapiro: Present

Cassandra tells her grandfather that she knows what the young lady saw on Mine-a back. It is the mark of the sang’re just like the one that she along with her Ila’s have on their own backs. But she is confused at how Mine-a could have this mark and how she would become queen when she does not even like the Diwatas.
Ybrahim tells his granddaughter that perhaps the answers are all in the scroll and it would be better if she would just listen to hear what happens next.

Forest of Lireo:

Mine-a is very surprised so she asks the young lady how she learned of the mark on her back. She has had it since birth but no one has seen it before. The young lady tells her that is because they have the same blood. Mine-a thinks, how could that be. Then the young lady, young Casseopeia, delivers a cryptic message to her older sister.

Casseopeia: I am the first and you are the second. But to bring the two together is difficult.

Mine-a has more questions, but Casseopeia does not have anymore answers. She tells Mine-a that they both have a great deal to learn.

Mountain top:

Andora spies a woman glowing in gold. She gets her brother’s attention and tells him that she has found the golden olombre. She tells him to go ahead and claim it so that he will receive its power. At this Animus rushes to the valley where Andora saw the colombre, but he finds nothing. The woman has suddenly vanished into thin air. The siblings are baffled at what happened. Then from somewhere in the forest a woman aims an arrow at the two. It zooms past their heads and explodes as it hits a tree. As Andora and Animus try to evade the attack they are suddenly confronted by the archer.

Hagorn is asking a favor from Raquim, he wants his friend to accompany him on his next visit to Mine-a. Raquim eventually agrees to his friend’s request.

Avria has summoned Ether seeking her wisdom.

Kabanata 2: Ang Kasunduan

A place in Encantadia:
Hagorn is telling Raquim that he his father arranged him to be married to someone.

Sapiro:
Asval took the letter from Etheria. The messenger didn’t want to give the letter to Asval but Asval said that he is the Prince of Sapiro. The letter is all about looking for Memen and Ornia.

Etheria:
Hagorn is introduced to Mine-a. They are arranged to be married by their parents.
And for the first time Mine-a took off the cloth hiding her face. And for the first time Hagorn saw Mine-a’s face.

Sapiro:
The messenger is still looking for Memen and Ornia. But Asval said that they are not in Sapiro. The messenger leave and Memen appeared and smiled at Asval.

Etheria:
Hagorn was speechless when he saw Mine-a’s face. Avria then arranged the two to be married.

Sapiro:
Raquim came to Sapiro and greeted Asval. asval scolded Raquim for he think that Raquim is not acting as a prince. He asked where did Raquim went to. Asval said that there is someone that they will need to guard. And that will be Memen and Ornia.

Hera Andal:
Mine-a is asking her mother, Avria on why does she need to marry the Prince of Hathoria. Avria told her that she needed to marry so that they will be much stronger.



Hera Andal:
Mine-a and Gurna are talking. Gurna told her that eventually she will learn to love Hagorn. But Mine-a said that her marriage is not on her mind right now for all she wanted is to find her father, Ornia, and their child so that she can punish them.



Sapiro:
Hagorn and King Arvak came. Hagorn told Raquim that he saw Mine-a. he said that Mine-a is so beautiful but Raquim refused and said that the beautiful encantada he saw is the most beautiful of all.

Hera Andal:
Gurna is shocked to see Mine-a wearing the clothes of an dama. But Mine-a told her that she needed to dress like that. Then she held the kabilan on her hands. She said that it is her mother’s weapon that will be passed onto her when she is the queen. She blessed the kabilan to be the weapon to destroy all the diwata.

Mine-a: “ Mula ngaun, binabasbasan ko ang kabilan na ito upang maging armas laban sa mga diwata. Ito ang papatay sa mga diwatang aagaw sa kapangyarihan ng Etheria.” (“From now on, I bless this kabilan to be the weapon to destroy the diwata. This will be the one who will kill all the diwata who will steal Etheria’s power!”)



Sapiro (present):
Ybrahim and Cassandra are talking about Mine-a.

Cassandra: “ Ilo, may kilala akong Mine-a. siya ang dating reyna ng Lireo at ina ng aking mga ila diba?” (“Ilo, I know someone with the name of Mine-a. she is the former Queen of Lireo and the mother of my ilas right?”)
Ybrahim: “ Siya nga ang Mine-a na nilalahad diyan sa kasulatan Cassandra.”(“Yes, she is the one who is in this story.”)
Cassandra: “ Pero bakit ganon? Galit siya sa aming mga diwata pero nagging reyna pa rin siya.” (“But how could it be? She is angry with us diwatas but she still became the queen.”)
Ybrahim: “ Alam mo Cassandra, ang isang nilalang ay parang isang briliante. Sa umpisa ito ay magaspang pa pero pag nawala na ang dumi na nakapalibot sa briliante ay kikinang ito, at ito ay magiging makinis at maganda.” (“You know what Cassandra, a person is like a gem. At first the gem is rough but when all the dirt is cleaned it will shine, and it will be smooth and beautiful.”)

Then Ybrahim start telling the story.

Sapiro:
Raquim and Hagorn had a practice fight.

Hagorn: “Alam kong tatalunin mo ako uli kaya isa lang pakiusap ko. Huwag mong masyadong galingan upang hindi ako magmukhang kahiya hiya sa aking mga ninuno.” (“ I know that you will beta me again. But there is one thing I would like to request, don’t fight with all your might so that my father will not be ashamed of me.”)


Hera Andal:
The messenger came to Etheria. He told that no one could tell where Memen and Ornia are. Avria ordered Victu to punish all the diwata they will meet so that they will know the whereabouts of the two.

A place in Encantadia:
Evades is holding Cassiopeia. He blessed Cassiopeia to grow faster.

Sapiro:
Raquim is now winning the fight but then he saw Mine-a and went still and was defeated by Hagorn.

Hagorn: “ Sinabi ko lang sayo na wag mong galingan pero nagpatalo ka!” (“ I just told you not to fight me with all you might but you make yourself defeated!”)


Sapiro:
Mine-a is running away from Raquim but they bumped each other. Raquim wanted to know her name but she kicked Raquim and run away. But then the etherian came. They killed all the diwatas. Raquim hid Mine-a and said that the etherians are truly ruthless and they should be erased from Encantadia.

Sapiro (present):
Cassandra asked why did the diwatas seemed so powerless. She also asked why didn’t they fight back just like her ilas. She also asked on why did they become powerful. Ybrahim said that Raquim is the one who first helped them.

Sapiro:
Raquim told Asval that the diwatas were killed by the etherian. Memen wanted to go back to Avria so that the killing will be stopped. Raquim seconded but Asval refused.

Hera Andal:
Mine-a and Gurna are talking about Raquim. Gurna said that she will tell it to Avria but Mine-a stopped her. Mine-a said that to get to know more about the enemy, you should befriend them.

Sapiro:
Raquim and Asval are talking. Raquim asked why did he refused Memen to go back to Avria. He answered Raquim that he wanted the etherian to fall so that Sapiro will be the most powerful kingdom in Encantadia.

Asval: “ Hindi mahalaga ang buhay kundi ang tagumpay.” (“Life has no worth only triumph.”)




Hera Andal:
Cilatus and his daughter Juvila came to Hera Andal. Avria asked Juvila to be the new captainof the new fleet of Hera Abdal. Cilatus refused but Juvila took the job.

Sapiro:
Raquim saw the diwatas who were killed by those etherians when he heard some noise. He then saw the 2 diwatas and asked them where the others are. He told them that he will hide them.

A place in Encantadia:
Cilatus scolded Juvila. He told her that he wanted Juvila to be married to someone. Juvila said that every man she fought were beaten by her. She said that who will marry someone like that. She also said that she will marry someone who can defeat her.

A place in Encantadia:
Raquim and the others halted from looking for a place to hide. Etherians appears and fight them. Raquim and the others were defeated when someone appeared holding the kabilan.

In the beginning Ybrahim told Cassandra the story of Encantadia based on the writings of Raquim.

The story goes back to when the Diwatas, the Sapiryans, the Adamyans, the Hathors and the Etherians lived in a magical land. Etheria was once known as the most powerful kingdom of Encantadia while the Diwatas were the weakest and were treated like slaves.

There were four tribes that lived in Etheria: the Hera Volo under Cilatus and his daughter Juvila, the Hera Sensa under Barkus and his children Andora and Animus, the Hera Aega under Asna’n and Odessa, and the Hera Andal under Avria and her daughter Mine-a.

Avria ruled the tribes and was their queen. But Avria’s husband, Memen, took a lovely Diwata, Ornia, as his partner. Shamed by the betrayal, Avria ordered her husband and Ornia to death. But the guards of Etheria failed to find the two.

Avria ordered the Diwatas killed, hoping that it would force the Diwatas to produce Menen. Menen and Ornia were hiding in Sapiro under the care of Asval who urged the two not to surrender to Avria.

Ornia got pregnant and gave birth to Cassiopea, who was prophesied to be the savior of the Diwatas. Avria, however, wanted her daughter, Mine-a, to be the ruler of Encantadia.

Mine-a disguised herself as a Diwata and looked for Cassiopea. But she had to pass through Raquim, the current prince of Sapiro.
